Your doctor and FHT is committed to your overall health and well-being.  Health screening helps you find out if you have a particular disease or condition even if you feel perfectly well, without any symptoms and/or signs of disease. Early detection, followed by treatment and good control of the condition can result in better outcomes, and lowers the risk of serious complications. It is therefore important to get yourself screened even if you feel perfectly healthy. This includes colorectal cancer screening, breast cancer screening, cervical cancer screening and vaccinations.  For an explanation of these tests, please click on the links below.

What else can I do?

Did you know that up to 80 per cent of heart disease, stroke and Type 2 diabetes — as well as more than one-third of cancers — could be prevented by eliminating shared risk factors such as smoking, unhealthy diets, physical inactivity and the harmful use of alcohol?  (International Council of Nurses [ICN], 2010)
